Muffins in Poland

Muffins

Last week the youngest students invited me to  their houses.

I played with Andrew and Anthony.

I helped Kate with her homework. She was drawing a robot. Kate is Andrew’s sister.

Later the children were a little hungry  so I made muffins for them.

Please, help yourself! They are delicious.

Polish Folklore lesson

Jastrzębie-Zdrój is an industrial town.

To learn about the local folklore younger pupils went to the nearby village Osiny.

They learnt what people wore and how  they lived, how they made butter and wool. Stanley was invited to go on a school trip. He learnt how Polish children say Goodbye!  to winter on March, 21. He enjoyed the trip.

Stanley: Swimmer

Class IA has extra PE lessons in the swimming pool. Stanley thinks he is not very keen on swimming. It looks too dangerous for him.

Poland

I've just arrived at ZS11. Don't ask me about the name of the town. Impossible to pronounce. Let's say J-Z, Poland.

Goodbye Stanley!

Stanley is off to continue his journeys in France. Have fun!

The Fox!

As we are sure most have heard by now, a song called "The Fox" is very popular right now. Two Norwegian brothers sing the song, so of course we had to have Stanley represent. The Ylvis brothers are famous comedians in Norway. They are well-known for their stand-up, and "The Fox" was actually meant to be a joke but it has taken off. The video didn't want to upload, so here's the link on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jofNR_WkoCE

A Visit to Oslo!

On Stanley's last weekend in Norway he was lucky enough to take a trip into Oslo, the capital of Norway.

He went on a nice walk through Vår Frelsers Gravlund, a beautiful cemetery, and came upon the grave of Henrik Ibsen, one of the most famous Norwegian play wrights. Here's a short wikipedia article if you're interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V%C3%A5r_Frelsers_gravlund

He got to observe some regular apartments and buildings....

And of course he had to check out the Royal Palace. This is taken on a street called "Karl Johan" which is a famous street filled with shops and restaurants in Oslo.

Stanley fit right in in a photo from the restaurant while he was waiting for his food.

The menu at the restaurant was a perfect fit!
